Do you want to know how to have a closet that reflects the person you want to be; comfortable, admired, elegant and prepared for every occasion?
We all dream to have the perfect closet, made of clothes that effortlessly and elegantly match together.
Let me share with you some tips that help me feel comfortable no matter the occasion.
Organization based on solid colors
My wardrobe is organized around some essential solid–color pieces: black, blue, brown…even an elegant dark green. I have skirts, pants, scarves, bags…everything in these colors. I use fantasies for tops and scarves of different shapes and sizes.
Organization based on simple shapes
Use original and alternative shapes to highlight your body: I personally love bell-bottom flare pants, fitted skirts, deconstructed jackets (basically shawls with sleeves).
Extremely simple shapes that, only for very rare occasions, I abandon in favor of more elaborated pieces.
Everything revolves around tops and scarves
The wardrobe should revolve around the fantasies of your tops and scarves.
I choose at least three colors and then I match them with what I like
- Blue with cold colors, but also with contrasting colors like mustard or rust.
- Brown with warm colors, paired with an eye-catching accessory.
- Black can be the initial canvas of every outfit.
- But my favorite combination is white with a touch of bright red.
How to pair shoes and bags
Shoes and bags can be of one of the three prevailing colors of the outfit. Play with the colors of your shoes and bags and try to create innovative combinations. Don’t base your outfit on just one color…unless you’re going for a very classic look.
The color of the year
I’m in love with the binomial combination of gray\red…and a touch of sage green, or brown, sky blue and apricot orange.
But the color of the year is teal that, despite being a pastel color, is less sugary than a warmer tone of green.
One scarf, three combinations
Ça va sans dire: one scarf can be styled with at least three different combinations. You can make each outfit stand out by simply pairing different accessories, like a functional tote bag (that you can use to carry an extra outfit with you, in case of an unexpected night out).
